Support
We’re a small family-software company and we read every message. The fastest way to get help is email — most questions are answered within one business day.
1. Contact us
Email support@lightsteads.com with as much detail as you can — what you were trying to do, what happened, and the device you were using (for example, “iPhone 15, latest app”). Screenshots help a lot.
We aim to reply within one business day. There is no charge for support, and we’re happy to help with setup, billing, data questions, or anything that isn’t working the way you expect.
2. Accounts and Family Mode
- Forgot your PIN? On the sign-in or Family Mode screen, choose Forgot PIN to reset it using your account password.
- Adding family members. A parent can add children and invite other parents from Settings in the app. Children can take part without their own login.
- Family Mode lets your household share one device, like a kitchen tablet. Parent-only actions stay protected behind your parent PIN, with optional Face ID.
- Turning features on or off. Every module (calendar, chores, homeschool, and so on) is a toggle in Settings → Modules, so you only see the parts your family uses.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Subscriptions are managed on the web at app.lightsteads.com. To start, change, or cancel a plan, or to update your payment method, sign in there as a parent and open Settings → Subscription.
For billing questions, refunds, or trouble with a payment, email support@lightsteads.com.
4. Calendars
- Google Calendar connects with two-way sync. Connect it from Calendar → integrations in the app and choose how each calendar syncs (import only, export only, or both).
- Apple Calendar is supported as a one-way subscription: Lightstead gives you a calendar link you can add in the Apple Calendar app to see your family events alongside your own. Events you create in Apple Calendar do not flow back into Lightstead.
5. Homeschool records
Lightstead helps you track lessons and assignments, attendance and instructional hours, reading logs, work samples, test records, and filings, with state-specific guidance for all 50 states and DC.
State guidance is general information to help you stay organized; it is not legal advice. Homeschool laws change, so verify requirements with your state’s department of education or a homeschool legal organization before relying on this content.
6. Your data and privacy
You can export your full household data or delete your account at any time, free of charge. See the Account Deletion page for step-by-step instructions, and the Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.
For privacy or data-deletion requests specifically, email privacy@lightsteads.com.
